SUMMARY:Lasermagnetic presents Beppe Loda at The Horse & Groom
DESCRIPTION: Saturday 12 November Lasermagnetic presents Beppe Loda The Horse & Groom - London - Price 4/5 after 10pm, Free before 10pm, £3 concessions Line UpBeppe Loda, Fabrizio Mamarella, Pearlflash (Benjamin Lau) & ReviveHER (Bi Bop) and Johnny Hiller (Lasermagnetic) playing disco & house over 2 floorsLasermagnetic's monthly at the Horse & Groom continues in November on both floors and we have a bit of an Italian Special on our hands...with a rare London appearance by Beppe Loda, one of Italy's very first generation DJ's and closely associated being one of the originators of the AFRO SCENE, which was pioneering the slow motion sound back in the early 80's in the Northern Italian regions and by embracing a variety of styles ranging from disco, funk, Euro disco obscurities via afro rhythms and Brazilian music to new wave, a touch of italo, industrial and German electronic music (sometimes also referred to as cosmic)....Those who managed to hear the tapes from the early 80s can only attest that the style of DJing and presentation was and still is probably the most creative one that has ever existed, as experimental-ism and connecting a generes via the mix, slowing down and speeding up records were the main force behind this movement. We like to call it the golden era of club culture and shall be posting some of the best loved tracks the AFRO SCENE has produced here - so please check back!Beppe has clearly influenced generations of leftfield music lovers and contemporary DJ's who embrace what is today labeled as disco/edits/slow motion....we are not sure what he's going to play this time, but be sure to catch master mixer Loda in action... So we have invited another Italian producer, Fabrizio Mamarella to join the dots. FM has recorded for like Bear Funk, Rollerboys Recordings & Slow Motion and DJ-ed internationally for a number of years now. Local support comes from East London based party crews Pearlflash (Benjamin Lau) & ReviveHER (Bi Bop), who through their parties and taste in music are carrying on the spirit and fashion from where it all started and we shall be looking forward to more good work in the near future.
