Last month saw that monolithic celebration of darkened rooms and fast noise, Time Warp, welcome 15,000 people to Mannheim for an evening of beats and bleeps from a handpicked selection of esteemed record players and live acts. Now we’ve been given the footage from said event, and it’s our pleasure to share it with you, our loyal readership.
The likes of Sven Vath, Carl Cox (who celebrates 50 years of life in 2012), Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Kevin Saunderson, and Richie Hawtin were amongst those charged with selecting tunes for the (educated) masses. Alongside those faces newer school names such as Jamie ‘Best DJ of last year’ Jones, Pan Pot, and Aka Aka were also responsible for the music policy.
Needless to say with a lineup like that things are bound to go off, and they very much did. Don’t take our word for it though, honest as we are here at Plain & Simple; there’s a video below that confirms this success story is no myth. If you weren’t there the following clip will no doubt ensure you buy a ticket well in advance of the next instalment, and if you were, well, happy memories (albeit no doubt hazy ones).
