There are lots of events to choose from on the long Easter Bank Hol weekend, but we’ve spotted one which will be kicking things of in a big way on the Maundy Thursday. Layo & Bushwacka’s project “Shake it” will be celebrating 3 years on the scene, and what a 3 years it has been! Previous events have featured the likes of Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Dubfire, Reboot, Magda, Paco Osuna. This coming event they are keeping the bar raised high, as they welcome the super talented Dinky from Visionquest, Crosstown Rebels and Cocoon Records.
Playing alongside Dinky will of course, be resident DJs and true pioneers of the London scene, Layo & Bushwacka!They will be bringing yet another thundering set for the Shake it faithful.
If all this wasn’t enough.. The party will be happening at a brand SPANKING new venue in the East End. Called Oval Space, this brilliant new space is literally a hop, skip and a jump from Bethnal Green tube… Next to those four old gasometers on Regents Canal, just off of Hackney Road. For extra wow points – we can tell you that this place has never been used before, the team are very proud to be able to bring it to you guys first, they tell us:
“The venue itself, being an old warehouse, is tucked away on a small industrial estate where we will be able to make as much noise as we like – whilst remaining well behaved and responsible at all times of course. We’ve put together a selection of photographs below, which will give you a good feel for the size of the space, it’s surroundings and what to expect when you rock up on the 5th April. It might look a bit bare and sterile at the moment, but imagine it filled with a thumping sound system, psychedelic lights, a big ol’ bar, several hundred weekend warriors and a handful of top draw DJ talent. We’re absolutely over the moon with excitement at the prospect of partying somewhere new, variety is the spice of life as they say, and coupled with the fact that this will be our third birthday and we’ve got a very special guest in the shape of the amazing Dinky, this could turn out to be the most memorable of Shake It’s to date.”
