Glade fest this weekend

Lots going on this weekend in the capital – that is if you are not off to Glade festival which looks set to be amazing! Take those wellies and rain coats for Sat and Sunday if you are! (although this is the weather report courtesy of BBC weather – I’ve often suspected these forecasts were compiled by an office chimp or something – they get it wrong that often!) Have a great time if you are off there! If you want to go but haven’t sorted yourself entry apparently TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE surprisingly! Click the link to have a read of Little Jo’s article on Glade, she says “Yes, we’re surprised too. Perhaps its due to some un-reliablity in previous years. Perhaps its due to the constant venue changes. Perhaps its just because there are so many festivals to fit in. But believe it or not if you’re not up to anything this weekend and fancy seeing some stellar dance music artists then you still have time to nab yourself a Glade ticket.” click for more…

A christian eye view of a raver apparently..

OK… So hands up who wants to read a right winged Christian American article all about raving and ravers? (warning – this article was written by an IDIOT & certain sections are quite offensive!!)  Can I get a HELL yeah?!! Some of my favourite parts: “This new drug (E) was so powerful that it could take the average business man and turn them into a bead wearing, lollipop sucking, Elmo backpack carrying sex-a-holic within 35 to 45 minutes. This drug would make ones eyes the size of a Japanese Anime character and would turn them into a raging sex craver. The amount of stranger sex due to this drug is unmeasurable and has been rumored that a male could be driven to having 12 to 17 sex partners in one night.” Other highlights.. “A Jungle List is known for liking what is called “Drummed and Base” music and are known for their pot and meth addictions.”  Roughly translated people – Junglists like Drum & Bass!! very funny – these people are total fascists and totally deluded – have a read:

CRETINOUS U.S CHRISTIAN BLOKE ON RAVING & RAVERS

**Massive lol! I just went back on the site and it seems its gone!! Its appears those naughty Christians haven’t paid their bill!! Either that or this awful article generated so much traffic that the provider wants more money – all very funny.. Maybe check back in a bit – you HAVE to read it!**

Now completely off topic (tangent alert!) has anyone else noticed how much buck toofed (yes we all can see you’ve had them done now love!) Brazilian football star Ronaldo looks like Red dwarf come Corrie crackhead Craig Charles? Its uncanny!

Enjoy the weekend folks! xx

Berlin will be well and truly represented by the likes of Ben Klock and Norman Nodge, while Tobias plays a live analogue hardware set of forthcoming tracks. Over in room two, Panorama’s ladies Steffi and Tama Sumo will be keeping the electronic minimal-edged techno and house (in their words..) deep, sexy, dirty and jacking.

SATURDAY 11TH JUNE

  1. TROUBLE VISION: SUMMER SESSION WITH TENSNAKE, LEE FOSS, SPACE DIMENSION CONTROLLER AT CORSICA STUDIOS: Err.. “Woah!” was the word that sprang to mind when I saw this line up! This Sat, Trouble Vision returns to present a Summer Showcase over at Corsica Studios (is it just me or have Corsica along with The Coronet been consistently smashing out amazing nights recently – it seems clubland is alive and well in Elephant & Castle after all!). Heading up Room 1, is none other than Tensnake. Having written possibly 1 of the biggest tunes of 2010, the TV guys are bringing him into London for the last time before he hits the festivals. Providing heavy weight support is one half of Hot Natured (with Jamie Jones) Lee Foss. Over in Room 2, is R&S signee Space Dimension Controller, plus T. Williams and his deep soul tinged 2 step stylings.  Also appearing will be regulars Dark Sky.. All in all a cracker of an evening folks!
  2. MUMU LONDON… ONNO & WILLIAM KOUAM DJOKO AT THE CAMP BASEMENT: The mUmU boys are just about recovered after an amazing night hosting room 3 at Fabric for their anniversary, and are back with a bang! This Saturday night they bring you a very promising dutch artist in the shape of ONNO. He’ll excitingly be making his London/UK debut for mUmU over at the CAMP basement on City Road.  Take a listen to the new mUmU podcast from ONNO up there ^ ^ in our pod casts section.  Support comes from Lee Rands (mUmU) and Iain Dixon.
  3. SPILT MILK DAYTIME TERRACE PARTY WITH KABALE UND LIEBE AT PAPERMILL: So far this season we have seen Spilt Milk bring the likes of Layo & Bushwaka & last time round it was the legendary Tiefschwarz turn ! Errr.. *phew* Line ups aside the party has a reputation for having an amazingly warm and friendly vibe and at weasel towers we think this is more important than any lineups! (although they do help OF course!!)  This Saturday they return with no doubt more friendly vibes and another quality line-up.  This event’s headliner is Dutch superstar “Kabale Und Liebe” who is quoted as producing one of the “greatest club hits of the decade ‘Mumbling Yeah’. With very few London appearances under his belt they are extremely lucky to have him on their terrace – Its seems the Dutch are invading East London this Saturday (see mUmU above!). Also on the lineup is Australian high flyer “Little Fritter”  and lastly, no stranger to Spilt Milk, resident Marc Ashken. The guys advise “Due to the overwhelming attention Spilt Milk is gaining, we strongly advise that you purchase an advance ticket for this event” standard.
  4. PERC’S ALBUM LAUNCH AT PATTERN CUTTERS WAREHOUSE:Over at The Pattern Cutter’s Warehouse on Kingsland Road, Techno Therapy and Perc Trax join forces for the official London launch party for Perc’s album ‘Wicker & Steel’. Perc is one of electronic dance music’s reference points: an internationally touring DJ, label owner and one of the finest producers around. For London-based Perc, AKAAli Wells, his rise to prominence has seen him releasing atmospheric drone and premium techno tracks since 2002.  His album Wicker & Steel’ is the pure distillation of the Perc sound. An instantly recognisable sound that has seen him appear on scene-leading labels such as Stroboscopic Artefacts, CLR, Ovum and Kompakt and which has taken him across the globe spreading the gospel of his own vision of techno. Supporting Perc will be Perc Trax own Truss, Forward Strategy Group, Justin Robertson and Chris Stanford… Massive!
  5. ILL-EC-TRO-NIC PRESENTS 20 YEARS OF VINYL ADDICTION AT CONCRETE BAR, HAYWARD GALLERY: Over at the Southbank center its a  veritable chin-scratcher’s dream! Chris Bauer, Langer and Stuart Parkins invite you to join them for an evening of choice cuts from two decades of feverish record collecting (Make that VERY feverish – I’ve seen Mister Parkin’s shelves in his front room! Literally wall to wall chock full of vinyl! Its an Aladdin’s cave people!).  Expect classic slices and lesser known gems of Chicago, Detroit, Electro, Hardcore, Breakbeat, Trip Hop and Electronica…. Plus booze (their words.. Lol). All this in the lovely space age surroundings of the Concrete Bar. There is a nice big terrace outside and they may drag one of the speakers out there if the weather is nice… Don’t miss this guys if you are “really” into your music – it’ll be perfecto… Enjoy
